WAR LEGACY TO BRITAIN 3y Cable.—Press Association. — Copyright. LONDON, Thursday. The Minister of Pensions, Mr. G. C. Tyron, announces that war pensioners, including widows and children, number 1,666,000. The past year’s payments totalled £63,450,000. The number of pensioners is decreasing at a rate of 4,000 a year through widows marrying again, and owing to 65.000 children reaching the age-limit. Deaths among pensioners, principally aged dependants, totalled 23,000. —A. and N.Z.-Sun.
