THE COWSLIP BALL
Of all the lovely games I know, The nicest one .of all Is when across the fields we go To "make a cowslip ball. You string the flower-heads with care, And then you bind them tight. And Lo! A scented toy is there, A plaything of delight. And Oh! it is a wonder-dream To toss is to and fro, To see it pass and gleam and flash, In all its springtide glow. Or hold it softly to your face, It seems to whisper then A thousand secrets of that place And many a hidden glen. —Sent in by DORIS LYDSTER.
