MALCOLM—CHEFFINGS
At St. Barnabas’s Anglican Church, Opunake, recently, the wedding took place of Air. Colin Malcolm, second son of Mr. and Airs. R. P. Malcolm, and Aliss Violet Louise Cheffings, elder daughter of Air. and Airs. Cheffings, of Opunake. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. D. J. Davies. The church was decorated by Aliss Irene Julian, who also presided at the organ and played “The Voice that Breathed O’er Eden” and a “Wedding March.” The bride, wore a charming French model frock of crepe de chine and silver lace. Silver shoes and stockings accentuated the pleasing note of her toilette. She wore the customary veil and orange blossoms and carried a sheaf of lilies of the valley draped with white tulle. Aliss Kathleen Gorringe, of New Plymouth, who was chief bridesmaid, was daintily attired in crushed strawberry crepe de chine and silver lace net and pink shoos and stockings to match. She also wore a pink rose bandeau and carried a bouquet of sunset shades. The flower-girls were Misses Iris and Eunice Cheffings and Dora Alalcolm. Iris Cheffings wore pale mauve crepe de chine and Eunice Cheffings pale apple-green crepe de chine, with headdress to match; and Dora Cheffings, .pale blue crepe de chine, each carrying beautiful bouquets of flowers. Mr. Marcus Sutton attended the bridegroom. After the ceremony a reception was held at the residence of the bride’s parents. * A pleasing incident occurred as the bridal car passed the school, pupils lining the roadside and waving to the bride. The honeymoon is being spent in Auckland, the bride’s travelling dress being of autumn brown repp.
