WARNING TO GERMANY
FINANCE CRISIS STILL TIME TO MOVE By Cable. — Press Association.—Copyright WASHINGTON, Monday. There Is evidence that the State Department and the Treasury are in full accord with the warning given to the German Government by the AgentGeneral for Reparations, Mr. Parker Gilbert. It was understood the State Department’s’policy of supervising loans floated in the United States by foreign interests would be employed to the full in the event of later developments indicating that the German Central Government and those of the German States were not prepared to effect the reforms which Mr. Gilbert feels to be essential. Treasury officials lay emphasis on the fact that Mr. Gilbert's statement poined out there is still time for a readjustment of Germany's financial policy in order to avert a crisis, and it is apparently hoped that Germany will accept the warning in the helpful spirit in which it was offered, and set its fiscal house in order.—A. and N.Z.
