TRAFFIC OFFENDERS
MANY CASES HEARD Many motorists who had ignored traffic regulations, appeared before Mr. W. R. McKean, S.M., at the Police Court to-day. For negligent driving. H. Cameron was fined £2 and J. Clark 20s. For driving without a licence G. A. Culhane and G. F. Hawkins were each fined 20s, and for failing to produce drivers’ licences H. Parkinson and W. P. Searle were fined 5s each. Briscoe and Co., who employed an unlicenced driver, were fined 10s. For faulty parking C. Garland and E. Craig were each fined 20s. For leaving vehicles unattended in Queen Street R. Corbett, G. H. Glover and J. Hooton were each fined 10s. For having cars insufficiently lit at night S. Bradley. E. W. Morris, B. M. Morley and B. Nisbet were each fined 10s. A variety of offences against bylaws was also responsible for the appearance of a large squad of offenders before Mr. E. C. Cutten, S.M. For turning to the right in Queen Street, Frank Anstis was fined 10s and costs. H. W. Bennett had to pay £1 and costs for a similar offence. M. McCarthy left a bus on an unauthorised stand —£1 and costs. For leaving vehicles unattended, H. Lewis was fined 10s and costs. Wallabh Bhana and S. Gallagher were ordered to pay £1 and costs each. S. Taylor’s bus had defective brakes. Neglect to keep them in order cost £2 and costs. H. J. Holliwell found cutting a corner expensive at £2 and costs. Rosina Hoffey, a furniture dealer, who left goods on the footpath outside her shop, was fined £1 and costs. \V. Bickley and J. Macdonald were each convicted and ordered to pay costs for showing insufficient lights on cars. Dangerous driving cost A. D. M. Stuart and H. D. Caro £2 and costs each. Mrs. E. Kretchmar, who failed to obey r\ traffic officer, was fined £1 and costs.
