SWIMMING ACTIVITIES AT NORTH SHORE

GAIA DAY NEXT MONTH The committee o ? the Devonport Swimming Club met last evening, Mr. A. Lane presiding. It was decided to hold a gala on Cheltenham Beach on December 17. A programme of open and school events was considered. The junior membership fee of 6d will cover entrance fees for programme events. The need for training school children in life-saving and swimming is to be met by the club training the committee men and as man}- school teachers as possible in the principles of lifesaving. They, in turn, will teach the school classes. Mr. Hearn, captain of the Devonport Club, will supervise the t ra i n i n er.
