PRESENTATIONS

PAPATOETOE RECIPIENTS A very pleasing ceremony was performed at the tennis courts on Saturday, when Miss Mary Wyllie, a popular member of the Papatoetoe Tennis Club, received an entree dish, the gift of her clubmates, on the occasion of her approaching marriage. Mr. P\ M. Waters, president, eulogised the good services rendered the club by Miss Wyllie, and on behalf of the club members wished her every success in her new sphere. He then called on Mrs. Waters to present the gift. Miss Wyllie suitably responded. At the interval of play of the Papatoetoe Cricket Club on Saturday, Mr. Dave Burnside, captain, presented Mr. Harry Swaffield, one of the oldest members of the club, and well known in sport generally, with a beautiful copper kettle, and torch, as a memento from his club mates on the occasion of his approaching marriage. Mr. Swaffield replied amidst applause from the donors.
