A message from Katherine jdstes that Mounted Constable Clapp, while bringing a prisoner to Katherine, was ambushed and •not He died on the way to Kttherlne. Details are meagre. Clapp was rejjonsible for many prosecutions at Mamnboy. It is stated that a threat °* violence had been made. Another report states that Clapp jested a prisoner and took a revolver from him, which he stuck in ~ Wt, and which accidentally went A. and N.Z.
