SACRED CONTEST

TO RELIEVE DISTRESS The ball set rolling by Mr. Oakley Brown in connection with a sacred concert for the purpose of assisting the unemployed of New Lynn has gathered a good deal of moss. Mr. Brown has been able to enlist the assistance of the New Lynn Town Board, and the district clergy. A date has been fixed for the concert, and it is hoped that there will be a good response to the urgent call, and that sufficient silver coins will be forthcoming to make brighter the prospects of a dull Christmas for many a home.
