It is a miracle they were not killed. Three of the children escaped with minor injuries, but the other »hree, a Maori girl and boy, and two white hoys named Williams, Murray and Gregory respectively, were severely burned about the head and face, one child being practically scalped. The three were removed to the Thornes Hospital. Their condition is not considered serious.
