PARNELL BATHS NOW CONCRETED
OPEN IN FEW DAYS Concreting work on the Parnell baths has been completed, except for finishing touches, and it is hoped that the baths will be open for next weekend. Those who have not had an opportunity of seeing the baths since the work started will appreciate the fact that the concrete has been extended over the whole of the bed, the bitumen or tar idea having been abandoned. Those who have seen the baths during the process of transformation, and goodly numbers have hung over the rails above the baths and watched progress, have already expressed appreciation. Parnell baths are now a vastly different sight to what they were a few weeks ago, when several men in gumboots were to be seen slushing round in the mud and ooze. This v. eek the men’s shed, which was badly damaged during the Public Works blasting operations, is to be renovated.
