TENNIS AT PUAKUE
NEW CLUB FORMED Mr. W. Cavanagh presided over a largely attended meeting called at Puahue for the purpose of forming a tennis club. Mr. A. T. Cooper referred to the wish of the people in the district for some sort of summer-time recreation in which both sexes could participate. He referred to the generosity of their patron, Mr. W. G. Park, who had willingly set aside a suitable area for tennis courts at his homestead. The following officers were elected: Patron, Mr. W. G. Park; president, Mr. A. T. Cooper; vice-presidents, Mrs. Collison, Mrs. Harlock, Miss Moves, Messrs. W. Taylor and R. Glasson; secretary and treasurer, Mr. E. E. Shea; committee, Mrs. Taylor, Mrs. Harlock, Miss A. Baillie, Messrs. 11. Baillie, and R. Parish: ground committee, Messrs. J. Baillie, H. Baiilie. R. Parish, E. Shea, F. Natzke, C. Kite, A. Cavanagh, and A. T. Cooper. The annual subscription was fixed at 10s for men, and 7s 6d for women.
