RIALTO AND REGENT, EPSOM
“LET IT RAIN”
Let It Rain,” which is being shown at the Rialto and Regent Theatres, presents Mac Lean as a marine who awakes from a lethargy only after meeting “the one girl.” Then, seeing an officer gain her attention, he determines to win his chevrons. How he does this by capturing a troop of mail thieves and saving the government’s honour, provides the comedy with a strong plot and plenty of laughs. If you don’t believe it, imagine what happens when Doug, discovers himself aboard a mail train with two crooks. First, they get the upper hand; then he does; finally he ties one of them up in a mail sac,k and the prisoner starts shooting through the canvas! Then, to make things even funnier, a third bandit, riding the brake rods, decides to cut the coach loose. And, the whole gang is marooned on a runaway train which continues speeding down steep mountain grades.
