MT. ALBERT RESERVES

SCHEME OF IMPROVEMENTS LOAN POLL FOR RATEPAYERS \ UTHORITY to place before the ratepayers a loan proposal involving £25,000 for the improvement of the reserves under its control has been granted to the Mount Albert Domain Board, which is identical in constitution with the Mount Albert Borough Council. Discussing’ the subject this morning, the town clerk, Mr. H. Utting, said a request that the authority be granted had been made by the Mayor, Mr. L. E. Rhodes, and himself when they visited Wellington in July. The proposals would have to go before the ratepayers in the usual way. The reserves to benefit under the scheme of improvements would be the Morningside reserve and the reserve on the slopes of Mount Albert, as well as other spaces in the borough. The authority granted is embodied in the Reserves and Other Lands Disposal Bill, read in the House last night, which also includes authoriity for the transfer to the Presbyterian Church trustees of one rood of the Hobsonville airdrome site, and authority for further reclamation and waterfront works at Kohukohu, liokianga.
