PRINCE EDWARD
“OH, PERCY” REVUE The “Oh, Percy!” juvenile revue, which had its premier at the Prince Edward last evening, was surprisingly good. The large audience was delighted with the clever work of the children. Special mention is due to Misses Sylvia Poynton, Jean Greenwood, Gladys Andersen and Janie Marshall, and Masters Cecil Douglas, Bert Eccles and Billy Burns, for their singing and quaint comedy. The “Bonnie Ballet” was very good. Cast away on a deserted island off the Florida Keys,, the pretty young girl-pirate captain of a modern rumrunner, and the Secret Service Agent, who had baited and trailed her, finally bury their mutual hatred in a most amazing manner. This is but one of the which occur in “Forbidden Cargo.” now being shown at the Prince Edward Theatre. This is Evelyn Brent’s latest starring vehicle which provides this splendid actress with thrilling action against a colourful background of the new Spanish Main, the battleground of revenue boats and the modern galleons laden with gin and whisky..
Billie Dove has worn many gorgeous gowns on the screen, but believes her most beautiful costume will be seen in First National’s “American Beauty,” her present starring production. The plot hinges upon the gown, supposedly of exclusive design and Carey Wilson, producer of the picture, was determined to provide the 11'autiful star with a costume which would provoke feminine gasps of envy on every continent. The gown is a product of Max Rae. First National designer, and is really a remarkable bit of work in that it is without period, so that the ever-chang-ing feminine styles never will catch up with it.
