SLAUGHTER OF SHAGS
That old enemy of the trout in the Rotorua district, the shag, received a very rude awakening during the weekend, when a party of three guns accounted for no less than 147. Reckoned at 2s 6d a head the sportsmen will receive a substantial cheque from the Acclimatisation Society, besides giving those who indulge in angling a better chance of a much bigger bag.
