NEW ZEALANDERS’ LOSS IN SYDNEY
GAME ENDS IN UNPRECEDENTED FASHION SOMETHING unique in the history of cricket was the finish of yesterday's match between New South Wales and New Zealand. The eight runs required for a win by New South Wales were obtained by sundries, neither o’ the onening batsmen scoring from the bowling. This is said to be without precedent.

Reed. 9.6 a.m. SYDNEY, To-day. rpHE “Daily Telegraph” says that the finish of the match between New South Wales and New Zealand was something unique in the history of cricket. Both batsmen, Kippax and Phillips, failed to open their accounts, and | neither bowler was scored from, the i necessary eight runs being obtained by sundries. "Something similar happened 20 years ago,” says the paper, “but in that case only one ball was bowled. Yesterday’s finish is believed to be without precedent.” —A. and N.Z.
