BUS-DRIVER FAINTS AT THE WHEEL
Before falling unconscious across the leering-wheel of a crowded bus in Edgeware Road, London, one night, the driver turned off the engine and applied the brakes. When he came to. he found himself .a St. Mary’s Hospital, Paddington. By his remarkable presence of mind ho averted what might have been a serious accident. As it was, the bus mounted the pavement at the corner of I'onnaught Street and collided with a lamp-post. The driver was Alfred Smith, of West Kilburn. The collision damaged the lamp-post and caused a leakage of gas.
