NO FROST
EARLY POTATO MARKET Reading in "The Old Frontier.” written by James Cowan. F.R.G.S.. that certain hill lands near Otorohanga were not affected by frosts, Mr. S. Thomas, of Kio Kio, this year planted potatoes on his property, with the result that his family have been enjoying new potatoes since September, some time before local gardeners consider planting them, and before Aucklanders, in many cases, are enjoying them. Mr. Thomas intends planting about 14 acres of potatoes next winter.
