OFFICERS’ CLUB'S NEW HOME OPENED

TRADITIONS OF THE SERVICE His Excellency the Governor-General opened the new headquarters of the Auckland Officers’ Club on Saturday evening. Such an institution as the club, where men came together as in a service mess, was of great value in handing down the traditions of the service, said Sir Charles Fergusson. These traditions descended from generation to generation, and were more valuable than history books. Major-General R. Young, G.O.C. New Zealand Military Forces; M. Paul Serre, Consul for France, and Mr. Walt€?r F. Boyle, Consul for United States, were present at the function, at which there was an attendance of about 100 members.
