HALLOWE’EN
SCOTSMEN CELEBRATE FESTIVAL AT SCOTS HALL The age-old festival of Hallowe’en is a very particular evening in the Scots’ calendar and was celebrated in the approved style in the Scots Hall on Saturday evening. The were the members of St. Andrew’s Society. There were about 1,200 present, including 80 children from the Presbyterian homes of the city. For the children it was a happy evening. They had games, dances and music, and a happy playmate in the Mayor, Mr. George Baildon. The society’s orchestra played some national airs and children, finalists in the Burns recitations competition, gave items. Prizes were presented by the Mayoress, Mrs. A. D. Campbell, to Miss Betty McKain, Miss Jean Croll, Miss Sheila Barr and Master lan Miller.
