Black Stockings Are Seen Madame at the Races

Frocks were of every kind . . . fluffy and pretty ones walked side by side with suits of masculine demeanour, and wide hats of fascinating appearance vied for a place in the sun with little felts of jaunty Lindberg feeling. Variety . . . that was the theme that essentially pervaded the frocking . . . as long as one’s toilette was different from one’s neighbour’s one was “correct” . . . what a change from our seasons and seasons of eternal sameness!
