TIMBER-MILL FIRE

MACHINERY DAMAGED (Special to THE SUN.) CHRISTCHURCH, Friday. The frame building - , housing the machinery of Imperial Timbers, Ltd. ; Langdon’s Road, Papanui, was destroyed by fire early this morning. The shed was built of timber with an iron roof and was soon burning fiercely. The brigade, however, effected a good save of the large stocks of timber, although three of the stacks caught fire alongside the mill. The damage, which probably amounts to over £2,000, was confined mainly to the machine shop. The machinery and building were insured with the Royal Insurance Company foi £BSO and £250, respectively, and the stocks of timber in the Yorkshire
