CAPITOL

“SENSATION SEEKERS” “The Sensation Seekers,” the Uni-versal-Jewel now at the Capitol Theatre, is a story of the ultra-modern set. Lois Weber has made a thoroughly gripping tale and has, as his leading characters, Billie Dove and Huntly Gordon. “This ultra-modern set,” said Miss Weber, “is not vicious. The members are merely seeking freedom of thought and action. “In my picture I have put various types. Some of their philosophies are like this: ‘Wine, women and song—today; don’t be serious, it doesn’t matter; let’s do what we can while we can: Oh, for a new thrill!’ “On the other hand, I have placed characters whose homely philosophies are: God is love; do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

“There is a natural conflict between these two classes of people which I do not believe has ever been adequately presented. ‘The Sensation Seekers’ I hope gives this presentation.” The second feature on the programme is “Flames of Argentine,” featuring Evelyn Brent. The supporting programme includes a two-reel comedy and the Universal News.
