Mrs. Arthur Wright, president of the club, received the guests, and the rooms were prettily decorated with ferns and flowers. The first prize was won by Miss D. Tewsley and Mrs. Abbott won the second. An amusing guessing competition during the afternoon in connection with a trousseau was won by Miss B. Hood. Luston, Evans,, Hardley, Evans, Dowding, Osborne, Potter, Guthrie, Bell, Woolley, Wallace, Ballantyne, the Misses Newton, Dalton, Mac Cormack. BAKERS’ WIVES AT TEA A successful afternoon tea party was I given in the Tudor Rooms yesterday | by the ladies of the New Zealand j Master Bakers’ Association, in honour | of the wives of the visiting delegates, j who are attending the conference. Mrs. Mathieson, wife of the retiring j president, acted as hostess. Over 75 women were present, and the tables j were attractively decorated. A huge ! basket of blue irises were on the centre table, and there were quantities of sweet peas in delicate shades and a j charming little souvenir posy on the plate of each guest. j
