BEAUTY-MAD
West-End Women FACE TATTOO BLOOM THAT LASTS By Cable.—Press Association. — Copyright. Reed. 11.34 a.m. LONDON, Thurs-. An extraordinary revelation of the extreme nature of present day West End beauty culture is made by the “Evening Standard.” A prominent beauty expert admits that scores of society women are at present undergoing a face tattoo, by which their cheeks are permanently bloomed, at a cost of £ls 15s. Lips are permanently reddened for £lO. It is an off-shoot of the permanent hair-wave. The expert explains that the tattoo marks do not show. The cheeks will be blooming even when they are withered. The system is stated to be not injurious. “One great advantage is that it abolishes for all time the lipstick and powder. Ladies do not seem to mind the fact that the process is tedious and painful. Each cheek and lip is punctured a few hundred time. “One girl,” concluded the expert, “refused to have the second cheek done, owing to the pain. One cheek is now Somerset anff the other Mayfair, but if I know beauty-mad women she will return.”—A. and N.Z.
