Widow’s Petition.—Having brought up a family of 14 children, Mrs. Marguerite A. Thompson found herself, on the death of her husband, who was for 25 years district land valuer in North Auckland, entitled only to £SOO, which she put into a house. She is now in poor circumstances, and she petitioned Parliament asking for a compassionate allowance. Her request is supported by a number of Whangarei residents.
