TO-DAY’S BRIDE

WEDDING AT THE TABERNACLE A WEALTH OF FLOWERS COX—OFFICER A frock of ivory satin charmeuse with panels of silver lace was worn by Dorothy, the elder daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. B. Officer, of Auckland, when she was married at 2 o’clock this afternoon to Mr. Noel Halsey Cox, the only son of Mrs. Cox, of Remuera. The wedding took place in the Tabernacle and was solemnised by the Rev. Joseph W. Kemp. The bride was given away by her uncle, Mr. F. A. Cleveland, ‘of Remuera, and the bridegroom was attended by Mr. Hector McKenzie as best man and Mr. Donald Shepherd as groomsman. Mr. Arthur Wilson presided at the organ. The Tabernacle had been charmingly decorated with a wealth of pink and mauve flowers, with beautiful hanging baskets and festoons of ferns. Each pillar and pew was laden with flowers and upon the pulpit graceful vases of lilies were placed. A huge floral wedding bell was suspended over the pretty bridal group. The bride’s frock was delightfully finished with a narrow belt of ‘softest suede, while a long veil of tulle was arranged from a high coronet of orange blossoms to form a graceful train. She carried a bouquet of rosebuds and sweet peas. Miss Mabel Officer, as chief bridesmaid, wore a charming frock of shell pink crepe de chine with a picture hat of rose pink crinoline. She carried a pretty bouquet to match. Miss Eileen Yeoman, another dainty attendant, wore a frock of iris mauve crepe de chine with a wide brimmed hat of matching crinoline straw and carried a bouquet to tone. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Domain Tea Kiosk, where a large number of guests were received by Mrs. Cleveland, aunt of the bride, who wore a smart ensemble of navy blue bengaline with a navy blue hat lightly trimmed with pillar box red. She carried a bouquet of red rosebuds. Mrs. Cox, mother of the bridegroom, wore a handsome frock of black lace and georgette over mauve satin, with a hat to tone, and carried a charming mauve bouquet. Among the many guests were: The Rev. and Mrs. J. W. Kemp, the Misses Elsie and Lucy Cleveland, the Misses Yeoman, Mr. and Mrs. Gaeth, Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Verran, Mr. and Mrs. W Lambourne, Mr. and Mrs. 11. GibsonFountaine, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Barry, Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Ellingham, Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Wilson, Mr. and Mrs. F N Andrews, Mr. and Mrs. T. F. Hill, Mr. and Mrs. Chappell, Mrs. C. Blomfield, Mrs. F. Donehue, the Misses Douglas, the Misses Burrell, Miss Tearle. Miss E. Daisley, Mr. and Mrs. Alec Sutherland.
