SALE OF WORK
A maypole in the centre of the room, covered with brightly-coloured streamers stretching to all corners of the hall, and trails of greenery and multi-coloured balloons on the many stalls were points of interest at the St. Andrew’s Church sale of work, opened by Mrs. G. H. Wilson yesterday. A dainty Early Victorian bouquet was presented to Mrs. Wilson by little Shiela McDougal. The various stalls were in charge of the following ladies: —Sweets, Miss R. McGruer, Miss N. Purdom and Miss Padaton; toys, Mrs. McKail Geddes; work stall, Mrs. Fraser and Miss Wallace: aprons, Mrs. Reid and Miss M. Geddes; fancy stall, Airs. Drier, Miss Brown and the Alisses Ryrie: produce stall. Airs. West and Airs. H. S. Elliott; flower stall, Airs. Purdom, Airs. McGruer and Aliss Smart; cakes, Airs. Passmore, Airs. T. Oliphant and Aliss Gilmore; ice cream stall, Aliss Al. Bain.
