AUCTIONEERS’ REPORTS Stock auctioneering firms forward the following reports of operations over the past week: — Alfred Buckland and Sons, Ltd., report; During the week we held sales at \Y estfield, Waiotira, Maungakaramea and Pukekohe twice, also pig sale at Pukekohe. There was an exceptionally heavy yarding of cattle at Pukekohe on Tuesday and average entries at other centres. Pigs were also penned in large numbers at Pukekohe, a total of 673 coming forward. Dairy stock and young cattle are meeting with a ready sale, but grown steers are considerably easier m value, and there is no improvement m the price of pigs. Best dairy cows made £l2 10s to £l6 10s; second grade cows, £9 to £l2; others, £5 10s to £8 15s; aged and inferior, £2 10s to £5; best springing heifers, £l2 to £ls; good heifers, £9 to £ll 10s; other springing heifers, £a 10s to £ S 15s; empty young cows and heifers, £3 to £4 3s; run cows, £3 15s to £5; store cows, £1 10s to £2 15s; prime young coWs and heifers, £6 to £9; other fat cows and light heifers,. £4 10s to £o 17s 6d; boner cows, £2 to £4 ss; fat steers, £S 10s to £ll 15s; grown steers in forward condition, £6 15s to £7 9s; good four-yeai-old steers, £6 5s to £6 12s 6d; three to four-year-old steers, £5 5s to £6 2s 6d; two to three-year-old steers, £4 5s to £5 ss; yearling to 18-month-old steers, £2 15s to £4 2s 6d; well-bred yearling to 18-month-old dairy heifers, £4 os to £5 10s;; other heifers, £2 10s to £4: pedigree Jersey bulls, £lO 10s to 20gns; sound young herd bulls, £5 to £ls, according to breeding, age and quality; heavy bulls, £4 15s to £6 15s; other bulls, £2 to £4 10s. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., reports:—We held sales during the past week at Westfield, Papakura, Waiuku, Whitford and Waitakerei. There is a keen demand for good and choice dairy cows and heifers, other dairy cows and heifers also selling readily. All classes of store cattle sold at late values. We quote:—Dairy cows and heifers, best, £lO to £l7 10s; others, £6 10s to £9 15s; aged cows and inferior heifers, £3 10s to £6 ss. There was keen competition for Henry Smyth’s herd of Jersey cows and heifers, many of his cows and heifers making £l7 and over. Bulls made £2 10s to £ls 15s, according to breed and quality; empty cows, £2 5s to £3 17s 6d; yearling to 18-month heifers, best, Jersey, £5 to £7 12s 6d; others, £2 to £4 15s; yearling to 18-month steers, £2 10s to £3 17s 6d; two to two and a-half-year steers. £4 to £4 18s; three to three and a-half-year steers, £5 to £5 17s 6d; four to four and a-half-year steers, £6 to £6 18s; grown steers in forward condition, £7 to £7 15s. Dalgety and Company, Ltd., report having held their usual monthly sale at Tuakau. Buyers were present from Morrinsville, Waerenga, Whangamarino, Papakura and Auckland. The bullocks yarded were good quality conditioned cattle, and sold under good competition. Values were slightly easier than at our previous sale, every pen with the exception of one being sold und£r the hammer. Two pens of four-year-old Shorthorn bullocks made £7 5s to £7 6s; three pens of three and four-year-old bullocks, £6 14s, £6 18s, £7: two pens of three-year-year-old Shorthorn steers, £6 2s, £6 3s; three-year-okl Holstein steers, £5 14s; three-year-old Hereford steers, £6 Is to £6 11s; three-year-old Shorthorn steers, in fair condition, £5 15s, £6 Is, to £6 3s; three and four-year-old Shorthorn steers, in low condition, £5 18s to £6; two-vear-old Hereford and Shorthorn steers, £5 7s, £5 16s to £6 Is; fat and forward cows, £4 6s, £4 12s, £4 19s to £5 17s 6d; cows with calves at foot, £2 19s, £4 to £4 12s; small two-year-old Shorthorn heifers, £3 10s; yearling Shorthorn heifers, low condition, £2 15s. Dairy cows were penned in average numbers and values were inclined to be somewhat easier.
