NEW LYNN WATER

REPORT ON SCHEME The New Lynn Town Board met last evening, Mr. Titchener presiding. A report from a firm of city engineers on the proposed reorganisation and bringing up to date of New Lynn’s water supply, with particular reference to mains, etc., for fire-fighting purposes, was read. It embodied estimates — £6,750 for the New Lynn area, and £2,500 for Kelston. These are approximately 100 per cent. higher than anticipated. Final decision in connection with the proposed scheme will not be arrived at until each member has perused a verbatim copy of the report. During the past fortnight building permits were issued for nine buildings, to cost £3,582. There are 10 buildings in course of erection in the district. .
