EMPIRE
“MARE NOSTRUM” Rex Ingram made his newest Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer production “Mare Nostrum.” entirely in France and Spain, and has in that way achieved much in realism and beauty of setting. It is packed with sensational incidents attendant upon the remarkable romance of an Austrian spy and a Spanish sea captain during the war years. Intimate details of the conduct of the submarine campaign in the Mediterranean are a feature, and two vessels were actually sunk before the camera to conform with incidents in the story. Alice Terry and Antonio Moreno are featured at the head of a distinguished company of European players. The picture, which has adapted from the celebrated novel by Vicente Blasco Ibanez, will be screened again to-night at the Empire Theatre. “Risky Business,” a sparkling comedy drama starring Vera Reynolds, will also be shown.
