HIPPODROME AND EMPRESS “THE LADY OWNER”
“The Lady Owner, a thrilling drama of the race track, starring Violet Hopson and James Knight, will be shown at the Hippodrome and Emress Theatres to-night. A British production, the film may well be classed among the best of its type which has ever been screened in Auckland. One of the outstanding features of the picture—or rather of the story—is that there are no impossible characters. The film is simply one of the lives of those who are connected with horse racing, owners, trainers, jockeys, and the animals themselves. The theme contains not only thrills, of which there are plenty in every ra.ee, but also romance, humour and even touches of pathos.
