FATHER POWER IS LAID TO REST Press Association. HAWERA, To-day. A gathering of 1,000 representatives of the Roman Catholic clergy and laity took part in the funeral obsequies this morning of the late Very Rev. Monsignor Power, Vicar Forane for Taranaki. Requiem Mass was celebrated by Monsignor McKenna, of Masterton, and Archbishop O’Shea delivered a Panegoric on the life and priestly virtues of deceased. The burial took place in Hawera Cemetery and the cortege was one of the largest ever seen in the district, taking 18 minutes to pass a given point.
