LAWN TENNIS

UNITY CLUB Unity Tennis Club opened the season on Saturday, Mr. V. R. Coyle welcoming the guests, in the absence ot the president. Mr W Booker declared the courts open after Mrs. Coyle had played the first ball. The prizes won last season were presented. The prize-winners were as follows: Men’s championship singles: M. Alexander; men’s championship doubles, M. Alexander and H. Potter; women’s championship singles, Miss A. Aughten; women’s championship doubles, Miss A. Dixon and Miss B. Hiscocks; combined championship doubles, Miss J. Gemmel and W. H. Mullins; mens handicap singles, B. Coltman; men s handicap doubles, Surman and Potter; women’s handicap singles, Miss Aughten; women’s handicap doubles, Misses Barr and Adams; combined handicap doubles, V. R. Coyle and Miss Burton.
