N.S.W. BREWERS DEMAND WEEK OF FIVE DAYS
GENERAL STOPPAGE FEARED By Cable.—Press Association. — Copyright. SYDNEY, Monday. The members of all the unions who are employed in the brewing industry are demanding a 44-hours week of five days and the elimination of Saturday work. They threaten to strike unless their demands are conceded. A mass meeting of all the employees in the industry has been called for Sunday next to decide whether they shall refuse work on each Saturday until their demands are granted. A general stoppage of the industry is feared. —A. and N.Z.
