COMING-OF-AGE PARTY
A very enjoyable party and dance was given at the Foresters’ Hall, Dominion Road, on Saturday evening by Mr. and Mrs. J. Gordon, where they entertained some •jests in honour of the coming of age or' their daughter. Miss Peggy Gordon. Mrs. Gordon received her guests in a gown of jade green crepe de chine, trimmed with ecru lace. Miss Peggy Gordon wore a dainty frock of white georgette inset with silver over white satin. The hall was attractively decorated with streamers, and the supper tables with masses of pink and white sweet peas. Besides a novel programme of games and competitions, an enjoyable list of items included songs by Miss L. Sheehan: recitation, Miss P. McLuckie; violin solo, Mr. Dennis Davison; also a song and dance by Miss Maie Akersten. During the supper interval Miss Gordon was presented with a charming array of birthday presents, including a large key, which all the guests autographed as a souvenir of the occasion. Throughout the evening an excellent programme of dance music was played by Mr. Leo Sayers and his Seattle Dance Band.
