An Ellerslie cricket team visited Karaka, Franklin, yesterday, and played a Mauku-Karaka XI. Ellerslie batted first and made 113, White 35, Cowan 15, not out, Lawrence 13. Bowling for the country team, Mulgan took eight for 27. The home side replied with 94. Mulgan 41, Brooks 18. For Ellerslie, Baxter took five wickets for 37, Stanley two for 12, and Lawrence two for 23. Karaka C.C. is a new club and the members are to be congratulated on having just laid down concrete match and practice wickets at considerable expense. #
