“THE SECRET STUDIO” I A big double picture programme is being screened at the Strand Theatre. First on the programme is a. sparkling film of the gay life of the studios in the Latin quarter of Paris, “The Secret Studio.” Olive Borden, who has played such contrasting roles as a girl of the Canadian woods in “The Country Beyond,” Eve, in “Fig Leaves,” the pioneer maid, in “Three Bad Men,” and a circus performer iri “The Monkey Talks,” is now a modern, thrill-seeking flapper in “Tiie Secret Studio.” ‘Why Girls Go Back Home,” the second feature at the Strand Theatre, is the answer bo an age-old question, why girls are disillusioned by the glamour and glitter of the footlights, the subtle manner of the man about town and the glory of their electriclighted names. Patsy Ruth Miller and Clive Brook are featured in this production, directed by James Flood. Included in the supporting programme* is a special film, “Famous Parisian Dances.” by leading Paris dancers. Included in those dances displaced are the Bacchante, the Cossacks, a new jazz and an Oriental dance. “In the Savage Solomons,” where thev don’t white men,'is also screened. ' Scenes are shown of the late Commissioner Bell and Ins native bodyguard, and the island of Malaita, where the recent massacre took place.
