ASSAULTED AND ROBBED

BANDMASTER ATTACKED (Special to THE SUN.) NEW PLYMOUTH, Monday. Assaulted by two men as he was leaving his garage late last night, Mr. F. W. G. McLeod, bandmaster of the Regimental Band, was robbed o£ between £ 2 and £3. Mr. and Mrs. McLeod had returned home in their motor-car, and while the former was putting the car in the garage Mrs. McLeod went inside. Asher husband did not follow at once she went back to him and found him lying on the footpath outside the garage. When Mr. McLeod was leaving the garage a man came up to him and asked for direction to a certain locality. While Mr. McLeod was explaining, the man caught hold of him and a tussle followed. Mr. McLeod was struck on the back and knocked down by a second man.
