Cricket Entries
THIS SEASON'S TEAMS INCREASE IN SENIOR B To-day is the closing date for entries for the Auckland Cricket Association's competitions. Already 77 teams have entered, and it is expected that when affairs are finalised at this evening’s meeting of the Auckland Cricket Association, the number will be over SO. There were 79 teams last year. The only new application for entry to the senior A grade competition is that of United, a former suburban club. This will be considered at to-night’s meeting. The North Shore Club, which had two senior A grade teams last season, has contented itself with one entry this year, but it has entered two teams, in place of the usual one. in the senior B section. Applications for senior B rank have also been made by Balmoral, Akarana, and Y.M.C.A., which brings the total number of entries for this grade up to 10, as compared with six last season. Shore, with a total of seven, has the biggest number of teams entered from one club. Of the entries so far received, there are eight for the senior A section: 10 for the senior B section; 12 for the second grade; 28 for the third grade: and 19 for the fourth grade.
