FLANNEL DANCE AT ST. HELIERS
A very successful flannel dance took .place on Thursday evening at the Peerless Theatre, St. Heliers Bay. So popular was it that the committee intend to make it the first of a series of flannel dances to take place at intervals during the season. The success of the evening was largely due to the excellence of the music, supplied by Mrs. Brooks’s orchestra, and their unstinted response to encores. The theatre was daintily and artistically decorated with tangerine bunting, orange streamers and bamboo, which, with softly shaded lights, were very effective. An excellent supper was served. The proceeds of the evening were in aid of the church funds of St. Ignatius. Messrs. Kerr, Hunt and Bradley were M.C.’s, and they, with the members of the committee who worked so hard to make the dance a success, are to be congratulated on their first achievement. Among those present were: Mrs. Cruickshank, black and silver frock with tangerine shawl. Mrs. Main, mole frock of crepe de chine. Mrs. and Miss Cameron, in mauve and blue panne velvet. The Misses Goldsborough, in frocks of pink and blue georgette. Mrs. Hunt, in frock of gold tissue. Mrs. Bradley, in cyclamen, veiled in black lace. Mrs. Carradus, in black silk crepe faille. Miss Orchid, in a frock of peacock blue georgette Mrs. Jackson, in a jade green and gold brocaded frock.
