DAIRY PRODUCE RETURNS

PRODUCTION STILL HIGH Returns of dairy produce delivered at the grading stores of the Auckland Farmers’ Freezing Company continue to show an increase over the corresponding period of last year. Returns of cheese sent in during the fortnight ended October 19 were slightly lower, but this was more than compensated for by an increase of approximately 10.7 per cent, in the butter returns. During the period 107,508 boxes of butter and 7,790 crates of cheese were sent into the grading stores compared with 95,086 boxes of butter, and 8,682 crates of cheese during the corresponding period of last year. Stocks on hand are considerably less than at this time last year—92,2B4 boxes of butter compared with 166,903, and 9,842 crates of cheese compared with 16,865 at the same date last year.
