Shipping News Service.—Watersideworkers passed a resolution yesterday strongly protesting against the proposal of the Government to discontinue the shipping news service displayed at post offices on seaboard towns. It was decided to send the resolutions forward to the Postmaster-General. Negligent Driving.—ln the Magistrate’s Court at Christchurch Henry Charles Van Asch. a solicitor, was charged w'ith negligent driving and failure to report an accident. On the first charge he was fined £5 and costs and oil the second was dismissed. — Pfess Association.
