MARRIAGES UNDER 21 POWERS OF MAGISTRATES (THE SUN’S Parliament ary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. With the addition of a new clause, moved by Mr. R. P. Hudson, Motueka, the Guardianship of Infants Amendment Bill, which gives magistrates power to give consent to the marriago of persons under 21 years of age, was put through the final stages and passed by the House of Representatives today. In committee, Mr. Hudson moved that a clause should be added providing that in the event of the death of the parents or one of the parents of an infant, the court might order that the grandparents, or one of them, should have access to the infant, at such time and place as the court thought proper. The clause was agreed to. the Minister of Justice, the Hon. F. J. Ro!leston. saying that there could be no real objection to it. and it did not affect the question of guardianship in any way.

The Bill was read a third time and passed.
