OTAHUHU ORPHANS
HELP BENEVOLENT SOCIETY The Otahuhu Orphans’ Club held an extra night for the 1927 session in the public hall, Otahuhu, on Wednesday, the proceeds of which are to be devoted to the funds of the Otahuhu Benevolent Society. Bro. E. V. Sutherland, president of the Onehunga Club, presided over a large attendance of members and friends, and a very enjoyable evening was spent. The club will be able to hand over a very satisfactory sum to aid the society’s gbod work. The orchestra, which was in good form, received great applause for their contributions, which included “Poet and Peasant,” and “The Doges’ March,’* under the baton- of Bro. E. Parker. Those who assisted in the programme were: Messrs. W. Vernon, Ginger, A. Austin, J. Kennedy, S. Bretnall, and E- Parker. The function concluded with the singing of the Orphans’ chorus, “Auld Lang Syne,” and the National Anthem.
