NO VISA—NO DELEGATE
MINERS’ MEETING AT WARSAW
MR. COOK CANNOT ATTEND By Cable.—Press Association. — Copyright. Reed. 11.30 a.m. LONDON, Wed. On the strength of a telegram from Warsaw, Mr. A. J. Cook, secretary of the British Miners’ Federation, whose passport the Polish authorities refused to visa, announced to-day that Poland had instructed its London Consul to issue the required visa. The Miners’ International Executive (whose meeting at Warsaw he was to attend) therefore urged him to come by airplane, adding that it was postponing the opening of the conference. Mr. Cook visited the Consulate and discovered that it had received no such instructions, and that it still refused the visa. Mr. Cook announces that he will not go now in any case. The International must manage without him, or meet in another country.—A. and N.Z. — Sun.
