£5,000 DRIVE PUT OFF
UNEMPLOYMENT RELIEF
FIXED FOR NOVEMBER Owing to the suggested date for the drive to raise £5,000 for the unemployed clashing with a fair being held by the Auckland Play Association to raise funds for a new community club, the Mayor’s Unemployed Committee has decided to postpone its drive till November S, 10, 11, and 12. It was pointed out yesterday that if the unemployed drive clashed with the other fixture, which has an organisation of between 300 and 400, both appeals were likely to be very seriously affectedThere was a very large attendance, representing many local organisations, present at the invitation of the Mayor yesterday, and a large committee was set up to organise the drive.
