His friends, Harrigan and ITannigaa. are rivals for a favoured look, as is N Harold Jones, whose motives are sin ister. The latter offers her a bett!position as his secretary, and Eddie' s downcast when he learns of her d e ! parture.

However, joy again comes his wa v when lie discovers her office, and i knows no bounds. He takes her to the mailman’s ball, but as he doe, . not dance, most of her time is taken bv Harrigan and Flanngan. While ’ black-bottom contest is in full swin* a piece of ice drops down his back, ani his antics on the floor -win him th prize. .Madge is happy, but tells hi= of Jones's proposal, and of her -c-c----to South Africa with him. ~

The previous day he has delivered special coat to a Mrs. Jones, and lai.'. sees Madge going to the boat with ion. Putting two and two together he suspects Jones of being a mail thi.r He goes to the apartment where he de livered the coat, and is surprised bv Jones, who realises that the simple ma ’ carrier knows too much. Jones escapes' and Eddie begins a wild chase after him, finally catching up, with the aid of Harrigan and Flannigan. He sue: ceeds in effecting an arrest, and Madge, realising she is in error, accepts Eddie, while his father decides he is not as simple as he looks.
