PROBATION GRANTED

“YIELDED TO TEMPTATION” HENRY EDWARD ETON, aged 31, an insurance company inspector, who converted policy moneys to his own use, was granted probation at the Police Court today. Eton pleaded guilty to two charges of stealing £l9 19s 9d from the Ocean Accident and Guarantee Corporation, Limited. Chief-Detective Cummftigs said that accused, who was an inspector, had stolen the money received by him for two policies. Mr. Fawcett, who appeared for accused, said that he had been suffering from partial paralysis of the face for the past 12 months, and this had necessitated extra expenditure for treatment. He had yielded to temptation. He was placed on probation for 12 months and ordered to make restitution.
